This gem just arrived in my inbox from bride Katie. Allan & Katie’s friend, Olivia Lau, PhD, was snapping awesome polaroids during the festivities at The Ashby Inn and captured this great shot. Thanks, Olivia!
In case you’re wondering… here’s the final image from that moment!
More to come from Katie and Allan’s wedding… so much more! Stay tuned…

Jacki and Reid had the most incredible wedding. You may recall that I was on Cloud 9 afterwards. The setting at Pippin Hill literally had me spellbound (I actually backed my car into a lamp post upon arrival because I was so blown away by the view. Whoops.) And not only was the scenery gorgeous, but can you ask for a better looking couple and wedding party?!? Way to make my job easier!
I LOVE THESE PHOTOS. Take a page from Jacki, brides, colorful silk robes are not only a lovely bridesmaid’s gift, but make for some lovely pictures during getting ready time. I’m particularly fond of the one on the right. I said, “Give me your best Designing Women face… give me Sugarbakers!” and these ladies snapped on the Southern Belle. Dixie Carter would be proud!
You know it’s a party with the bride and groom take the stage…TWICE! They brought down the house!
Congrats, Jacki & Reid!

In case you missed the play by plays of this glorious wedding weekend in Charlottesville, Virginia, here you go!
Here I am leaving DC bright and early Saturday morning to get to the Bridesmaids’ Luncheon. Car-full of gear? Check. 10 outfit changes? Check. Hot rollers? Check, check, check…
Love at first sight! God bless Pippin Hill and it’s gorgeous views.
The sweetest little Flower Girl, Peyton, at the wedding rehearsal. Swoon.
Despite my preemptive strike with hot rollers early that morning, the humidity won. Emergency trip #1 to CVS.
Sebastian Re-Shaper hairspray, you rock. Heading to the rehearsal dinner…
The wedding rehearsal at Farmington Country Club could have been the reception, it was so lovely! And the toasts had us all in stitches and tears.
Miam miam. The red snapper was phenomenal. (Like I wouldn’t take photos of the food…)
My sweet treat at the end of the night!
Emergency trip to CVS #2: Ice packs, Emergen-C, and wrist braces. Needed to rebound quick for all the festivities the next day!
Primed and ready for the main event!
I actually remembered to eat before the ceremony. Pippin Hill’s Croque Monsieur in a cute little cast iron skillet. My kind of place.
Kwaaa?!? It’s wedding time?!?
(**Please note: Jacki’s hair is in process… 😉 I promised I would explain this one!)
Pippin Hill’s Chef Amalia Scatena developed this dish especially for Jacki & Reid. Shenandoah Chicken & Carolina Prawns… a huge hit!
First to arrive & last to leave… I was pooped!
But that wasn’t going to stop my 2nd shooter, Kyle, and I from getting a celebratory drink. Kyle’s “kwaa?!?” face after listening to drunk college kids for about an hour. I haven’t laughed so hard in a long time… probably since I was their age.
We needed some late night dinner and ran into some of the wedding party…
I love my job.
Thank you, Jacki & Reid, for an incredible 3 days. Have fun in the Dominican Republic!
Stay tuned for photos to follow…

I had the pleasure of photographing Laetitia and Marc’s wedding in Blois & Chambord, France this past October. It was a lovely weekend of merriment among friends and family. They both brought their unique personalities into the celebration which was a vintage-styled, Brazilian-influenced conte de fée. It was a glorious moment to witness.
Félicitations, Leat & Marc!
